'The Dance', a unique collab artwork
The unique collaborative artwork, "The Dance," revealing the unique interplay between myself and the Dutch artists Kim Hotterbeekx and Rafke Hotterbeekx, is an ode to the sisterly, magical, and natural landscape that surrounds and inspires us. The artwork is part of art project DEN HEKSE WEEG. It combines photography, pen and ink drawing, and ceramics into a single, layered whole. An image that balances between past and present, between visible and hidden worlds.
Artists:
Ingeborg Steenhorst — photography & costume design
Kim Hotterbeekx — textile art, pen and ink drawings
Rafke Hotterbeekx — ceramics

About
Ingeborg Steenhorst (born 1973) is a Belgian-Dutch artist, photographer, and costume designer. Her work is strongly influenced by nature, ethnic, and historical art. She uses both analog and digital photography as a means of (self-)reflection and awareness. Through narrative, staged photo series, she expresses her emotions and reflects on social themes such as climate change and environmental damage.
Her signature style includes a theatrical use of light and shadow, which amplifies emotion and tension in her photographs. Her almost painterly approach to post-production, combined with the use of her own designed costumes, gives her photography a mysterious, layered, and compelling visual power.
